It fits small businesses, agencies, and operators who want mailbox hosting — mail hosting without a website — and documented DNS instead of a bundled Google or Microsoft suite.

Custom domain email hosting
A custom domain email address uses the domain you already own rather than a consumer suffix such as gmail.com. Relay Mail is mailbox hosting for that pattern: you keep the registrar, then point mail at Relaytera with the MX and authentication records shown after checkout. It is not a free Gmail replacement, and it does not include a collaboration suite.
IMAP, SMTP, and webmail
After checkout, Mail hosting shows the same client settings we email to workspace owners. Username is always the full address. These hosts are for Relay Mail only — they are not the Relay API SMTP endpoint on smtp.relaytera.com.

You choose each mailbox password in the browser. Relaytera never emails that password.
Mailbox hosting vs website hosting
If you only need inboxes, stay on Relay Mail. If you need a website plus mail on the same domain, choose Relay Hosting. “Email with hosting” in the UK often means that website-plus-mail bundle — that is the cPanel product, not this page.
Not the Relay API
smtp.relaytera.com is for application email with an API key. Relay Mail clients use mailbox.relaytera.com. Do not mix those products on one From address without understanding the DNS split.
Email hosting for small business
Small businesses usually need a handful of branded inboxes, IMAP on phones, and DNS they can actually publish — not a 50 GB Exchange seat or a website they will not build. Relay Mail starts at three mailboxes on one domain. If the business also needs a site, that is web hosting with email on Relay Hosting, not this product.
How Relay Mail sits next to large UK hosts
Names.co.uk, FastHosts, 123-reg, and IONOS all sell email hosting, often with domain registration and introductory pricing. Relaytera does not compete on a £1 first-month headline or on unlimited mailboxes. The offer is month-to-month mailbox hosting, documented DNS, and a product that is not mixed up with website files or a sending API.
How setup works
Create a workspace, choose a Relay Mail plan, enter the domain at checkout, then follow the mailbox DNS instructions in Mail hosting. Manual DNS works at any registrar; Cloudflare automation is optional and conflict-safe.
What we do not claim
Inbox placement is not guaranteed. Relay Mail is not a public provisioning API. We do not register the domain, and we do not treat mailbox hosting as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.

- What is email hosting?
- Email hosting runs mailboxes on a domain you control, so addresses such as you@your-domain.com work in webmail, IMAP, and authenticated SMTP. Relay Mail is mailbox-only hosting: it does not include a website and it is not the outbound Relay API.
- Can I keep the domain I already own?
- Yes. Relaytera does not register, transfer, or renew domains. After checkout you publish the mailbox DNS records shown in Mail hosting — MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC — or connect an authorised Cloudflare zone.
- Does Relay Mail include IMAP and webmail?
- Yes. Relay Mail includes branded webmail plus IMAP so the same mailbox can sync in Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, and mobile mail apps. Authenticated SMTP is included for sending from those clients.
- How many mailboxes and how much storage?
- Plans start at 3 GB total storage, 3 mailboxes, 15 aliases, and one customer-owned domain. Larger plans add storage, mailboxes, aliases, and extra domains. Each mailbox currently has a 1 GB quota. Exact limits are listed on Pricing before you pay.
- Is this cheaper than Names.co.uk or Google Workspace?
- It depends on the offer. Some UK hosts advertise introductory prices from £1, then a higher monthly rate, and often sell the domain as well. Google Workspace is a collaboration suite, not mailbox-only hosting. Relay Mail is month-to-month with no domain registration bundled in; current prices are listed on Pricing before you pay.
- Is this the same as a transactional email API?
- No. Relay Mail is for people reading and sending mail from branded inboxes. Relay API is a separate outbound application-email product for REST or SMTP submission, with delivery traces and signed webhooks. Public purchase of Relay API is coming soon.
- Will mail always reach the inbox?
- No email host can guarantee inbox placement. Delivery depends on DNS, sender reputation, and the recipient provider. Mail to Gmail may land in spam while a sending IP warms; Proton and similar providers are typically less aggressive.
